Industry Leading Video Lifecycle Management

The surveillance market has abandoned the days of grainy analog cameras and embraced high resolution Megapixel IP cameras. While the incredible detail produced with a Megapixel camera is an easy sell to customers, the high cost of storage can be another story. Timesight Systems offers unique NVR solutions that address this dilemma. It is now possible to store months of video on days of storage without breaking the bank.

The general practice today is that if you need longer storage retention, just dial back the resolution and frame rate settings until you hit the sweet spot. Timesight has developed a way to achieve your desired storage retention without sacrificing image quality. This is achieved using their innovative Video Lifecycle Management (VLM) technique, which allows rules to be created to re-compress video over time using dynamic H.264 encoding and compression to allow for more storage.

When it comes to video data, time determines risk, and risk is most acute in the first few hours or days for events such as robberies or assaults. As time goes on and no acute risk events have occurred, moderate risk events such as site injury or suspicious employee activity start to emerge. Finally, a state of low risk emerges, such as capturing slip and fall events or data for compliance and training. The value of the video in the three risk levels differ greatly, so why save 9 month old video in the same manner as 2 hour old video? Timesight allows you to automate the compression of video over time based on the requirements of your individual needs.

TimeSight Systems NVR Webinar - Dec. 14 @ 1 PM CSTTimeSight Systems has also taken security to the next level with its innovation of Motion Optimized Recording (MORe) which redefines the way motion and non-motion video is recorded. It enables the customer to record all video from all cameras all of the time, while massively saving on storage needs. In deploying MORe, a system recognizes when there is motion, and when there isn’t. However, in times of perceived ‘non-motion’, recording isn’t stopped; rather, the recording continues but using a storage-optimized profile. Normally this means increasing compression (to make frame sizes smaller) and decreasing frame rate (to make overall volume of video captured smaller). However, in all cases, recording continues with a minimum of one frame per second to allow an unbroken timeline when viewing video. No gaps in recording means that you now always have evidence to refute fraudulent claims. You can still review video based on motion events so that you can quickly find video for a specific event.

TimeSight Systems provides consumers with flexibility and control over video storage and size to ensure the maximum return on their surveillance investments.
