SIP in the Square - Meeting was still a Call Connect Despite Severe Weather
ABP’s Fort Worth after hours IP Communications Reseller meeting almost had to take a rain check but since the ABP team already was on site and some intrepid Telecom and Data Resellers still came despite severe weather and tornado warnings we still had a nice event.
Among other things several of us discussed joining the local Asterisk User Group in Dallas and possibly start a Fort Worth chapter. In the group we shared a lot of tips and suggestions. We discussed how to remotely configure and deploy large numbers of Snom phones on Asterisk and use the auto configure feature to not have to press any key on the phones when updating. Tips and Tricks for deploying Hitachi-Cable phones on Asterisk or Epygi IPBXs and discussed some XML applications on IP Phones. Andy from DFW Onsite Technology shared his great experience deploying a predictive dialer built on Open Source for a small to medium sized customer. He is planning to post on ABP Asterisk Focus BLOG in a few days for everyone to peruse.
The 8.0 on Sundance Square turned out to be great venue with the music not being too loud, good appetizers and cold beer. See everyone in Dallas the next time. The next DFW area meeting TBA should be in May.
